Sen. Boxer sponsored an amendment to end tax subsidies for U.S. companies that ship production overseas, and she supports incentives for businesses that hire local workers.

Sen. Boxer is a strong supporter of the Wall Street reform legislation that would stop the reckless practices that brought our economy to the brink of collapse. She sponsored an amendment to end taxpayer-funded bailouts for Wall Street banks and fought to curb excessive executive bonuses.

Senator Boxer defends workers’ freedom to join unions.

Sen. Boxer firmly believes in workers’ freedom to join and form unions. She co-sponsored the Employee Free Choice Act and has spoken out passionately for its passage. She also strongly supported giving Transportation Security Administration workers the same collective bargaining rights as other federal workers. 

Senator Boxer fights to protect our wages. 

Sen. Boxer led the effort to increase the minimum wage for more than 13 million workers. She fought the Bush Administration’s proposals to abolish the 40-hour workweek, preventing millions of Americans from losing their overtime pay. Sen. Boxer is a longtime supporter of prevailing wage. She believes in equal pay for equal work and co-sponsored the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act to ensure that victims of wage discrimination can seek justice. 

Senator Boxer stands up to help jobless Californians.

Sen. Boxer championed legislation to extend and expand unemployment benefits, and also secured $19 million in federal funding to help the thousands of autoworkers and supply chain workers displaced by the NUMMI plant closure.
